Chattanooga, officially the City of Chattanooga, is a city in and the county seat of Hamilton County, Tennessee, United States. It is the fourth-largest city in Tennessee, after Nashville, Memphis, and Knoxville, and the 166th-largest city in the United States.
Chattanooga is located in southeastern Tennessee on the Tennessee River, approximately 120 miles (190 km) northwest of Atlanta, Georgia, 112 miles (180 km) southwest of Knoxville, Tennessee, and 135 miles (217 km) southeast of Nashville, Tennessee. The city is surrounded by the Cumberland Plateau and the Appalachian Mountains.
